Application fee

The application fee covers administrative costs associated with applications. 

During the application process certain documents have to be prepared prior to decision-making. This process incurs administrative costs. Application data and uploaded documents are necessary for deciding whom to allocate accommodation.


Important:

The application fee is only payable through the application process our website. The payment is carried out directly via PayPal or Klarna (formerly Sofortüberweisung). Once the online payment is made we will commence the creation of your file and processing of personal data.
We always try to send an acknowledgement as soon as possible, normally after a few days.

Vacant accommodation spaces in our halls of residence, including notices, cancellations etc., are dealt with on an on-going basis, at least once monthly.
When allocating accommodation, one of the following will occur:


If after three months no accommodation place can be assigned, we will offer you the possibility of a further three months on the waiting list.

Processing fee

This fee covers further processing onto the waiting list for three months.
Vacant places will be allocated to those on the waiting list on a continuous basis, followed-by:

When allocating a vacant place, one of the following will occur:

  • An acceptance as required
  • A rejection of your application
  • A deletion of data after six months

Deposit

The deposit is a guarantee against any possible damage in the room which can be attributed to you, the contract holder. The deposit is equivalent to two months of usage fees.
The transfer of your deposit will be made 62 days after moving out of the halls.

This fee is due when changing rooms or moving out of the halls and will be deducted from the deposit.

Monthly costs

Usage fees (rent)

Rent is collected in advance on the 5th of each month via SEPA direct debit.

The payment with SEPA direct debit is only possible with a euro account. 
The ‘SEPA direct debit mandate‘ form will be sent to the resident and must be completed immediately and returned to the manager.
Failure to pay the full amount of the rent on the due date will incur additional costs which will be charged.
The first debit will amount to the anticipated room allocation. Any differences will be taken into account the following month.

Each student who has been assigned a place in our halls of residence will be charged with rent for the full month, irrespective of whether the student has actually moved in or out. 
Foreign students who do not have a euro account, or whose home country does not have the euro as their national currency, must open a student account in Austria. This is also free of charge for EU foreigners and third-country nationals.

The rent will be deducted from this euro account via direct debit. Foreign students must pay the rent for the first month in advance and then, when in Vienna, they will have 1 month to set up a student account.

Before moving in, guests must prove that they have set up a standing order with their bank for the entire duration of their stay, with execution on the 3rd of the month.
Guests also pay no maintenance fee etc., but only deposit a deposit and transfer the monthly flat rate rent, regardless of the room size.

3-year costs

Maintenance contribution 

The maintenance contribution is used to cover damage that cannot be attributed to anyone.
All residents are required to pay the maintenance contribution, as mandated by management. The maintenance contribution currently amounts to €180. This contribution is calculated on the basis of 36 months and, should a resident move out before 36 months has elapsed, the maintenance contribution will be refunded proportionally, as long as there are no financial claims from management (open usage fees etc.).

After 36 months of residency has elapsed, the same original maintenance contribution will need to be paid again. If this is not paid in full then the maintenance contributions will be deducted proportionately (€ 5 per month) from the deposit.

If the direct debit is rejected due to insufficient funds in the account of the resident, or the person who pays the usage fees, bank fees will be charged and an email will be sent. We also charge reminder fees.
